Li Lim

Clinical Psychologist

Li is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA, AHPRA), who completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Queensland. Prior to her clinical training, Li worked as a researcher and lecturer at the Australian National University in Canberra, where she completed a Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych) and a PhD in Social Psychology.

As a therapist, Li is calm, genuine, non-judgmental and empathetic, and always aims to understand her clients’ difficulties and challenges, from their perspective, through active listening and reflection. Li provides a safe and supportive space in which clients can freely express themselves. She works primarily within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, but also draws on elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy (ST), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

Li has previously worked in community mental health, group practices, as well as delivered inpatient and outpatient services at a private hospital. Li works with adults, as well as younger adults (12+ years). She has considerable experience working with:

  • Mood and anxiety disorders

  • Stress

  • Motivational issues

  • Trauma

  • Autism spectrum disorder

  • ADHD

  • Personality disorders.

Li welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life, and is happy to conduct sessions in Mandarin Chinese if needed.
